The majority of our current projects entail providing pack support for small groups to conduct conservation and preservation projects in areas that require some maintenence to permit public use of wilderness areas. In pack-support IWF prepares riding and packing stock, and facilitates transport of tools, supplies, and volunteers in and out of the project site. Project time frame includes travel days, and trail work days. The projects that IWF primarily conducts include trail maintence and trail reclamation which supports maintaining public access to Idaho's wilderness areas.
We will provide pack support for a project in the Pioneer Mountains, supporting the Student Conservation Association (SCA) and the Montana Conservation Corps (MCC).
This project is in tandem with Project One, yet located in the North Fork, Idaho area. Similarly, we will provide pack support to bring in tools and supplies to support ongoing projects with the SCA and MCC.
Our third project is back in the Pioneer Mountains, although in a different canyon. During this project, we will provide pack support and conduct boots-on-the-ground trail maintenance.
This project in the White Clouds includes pack support and trail maintenance.
